The mission of the Concordia Preparatory School Development Program is to:
- Raise the financial resources necessary for the school’s operating, capital, and endowment needs.
- Communicate the school’s vision and mission among Concordia Prep School families, alumni, friends, faculty, staff and association churches.
The Development program believes strongly in being good stewards of all that God so generously gives to us, and we try to reflect that in our values:
- Affordability Concordia Prep School values keeping tuition affordable for as many families as possible. The cost of tuition only represents a portion of the actual cost of an education at Concordia Preparatory School.
- Facility Improvements Maintaining our facilities that we have been blessed to have since 1965, represents a significant portion of our yearly budget. In order to provide the improvements necessary to provide our students with a contemporary environment, we need the financial resources to do this.
- Financial Stability The key to the school’s future financial stability is in building an endowment fund that will ensure operational budget financial reserves and an endowed scholarship program. These funds will allow Concordia Prep School to supplement its operating budget and meet the financial demands of operating an independent Lutheran high school. These funds will reduce the dependency on tuition increases to meet future cost increases in the budget.
Concordia Preparatory School has two vehicles which provide the bulk of our resources; the Annual Fund and a Capital Campaign. The Annual Fund is an ongoing, yearly program, while a Capital Campaign is only conducted when large capital projects need to be funded.
The Annual Fund Campaign solicits the first and most important financial gift we ask of every parent, grandparent, faculty, staff, alumni, and friend of Concordia Preparatory School. Since dollars raised from this campaign go directly toward the daily operations and continuous improvements to Concordia Preparatory School, it is the most beneficial gift that you can make. The Annual Fund Campaign is also critical in keeping tuition reasonable and competitive.
In the past several years, gifts to the Annual Fund have allowed us to: replace our gym floor; replace windows and doors in the LAC; upgrade to energy efficient lighting in the hallways and classrooms; replace all of the lockers (which were original to the school!); purchase Smart Boards; install LCD projectors to enhance utilization of classroom technology; paint all of the classrooms; renovate the softball field; replace the chillers that provide air conditioning; seal the gym floor and the parking lot; and pave around Saints Field, to name just a few.
We are tremendously grateful for the generosity of the many supporters of Concordia Preparatory School who have provided the vision, financial means and the volunteer efforts to make our school successful. We look forward to your continued support for many years to come.
