Through the generosity of alumni, friends and patrons of Concordia Preparatory School, limited grants are available for families demonstrating financial need who desire their children to receive the excellent Christian education provided by Concordia Prep.

Financial assistance is based on documented financial need.

FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment will be conducting the financial need analysis for Concordia Preparatory School for the 2019-2020 school year. Families applying for financial aid will need to complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment. For new students, financial aid forms should be filed during the application process.

Both new and returning students may apply for financial assistance online at https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/3CNFQ. Applications for financial aid for new students will not be accepted after January 31, 2019. Returning students must submit their request between February 1 and April 1 for the next school year.

The following information is required in order for FACTS to process your application:

  1. Completed application.
  2. Payment of the FACTS application fee.
  3. Copies of your 2018 tax forms including all supporting tax schedules.
  4. Copies of your 2018 W-2 form for both you and your spouse.
  5. Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security Income, Welfare, Child Support, food stamps, workers’ compensation, and TANF.

The Concordia Preparatory School Tuition Assistance Committee makes decisions on the amount of financial aid award and communicates those at the time of acceptance, as long as all required information has been verified by FACTS before that time. Recipients are notified by mail. All financial information and the identity of students seeking and receiving financial assistance is kept confidential.

All financial assistance is awarded on an annual basis.

The Karen E. Montague Scholarship 

The Karen E. Montague Scholarship Fund was established to provide scholarship awards to qualified Concordia Preparatory School students based equally on financial need and academic merit. Both new and current CPS students in grades six through twelve may apply. Download an application here. Completed applications should be submitted to the Montague Scholarship Committee by February 16, 2019. Applicants will be notified of the Scholarship Committee’s decision by March 5, 2019.

Betty L. Jasion Scholarship Fund

The Betty L. Jasion Scholarship Fund has been established to honor the legacy of Mrs. Betty L. Jasion for her exemplary Christian witness. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School until high school and also sent her children there until they were old enough to attend Baltimore Lutheran School. She is a former member of the Baltimore Lutheran School Board of Directors and was an active member of the Lamplighters, is an alumni parent of Ron D. Jasion, ’76, W.E. Scott Jasion, ’78, and Lisa Jasion Torio, ’83 and alumni grandparent, Gretchen L. Gingher, ’08. As able, she supports the school’s various activities and events and continues to lift the school in prayer. 

Criteria for this scholarship:

The scholarship will be awarded based on the following criteria:

  • The recipient will be an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and School of Blenheim/Glen Arm. 
    • If multiple applicants are active members of St. John’s, then the recipient will be selected in the following manner:
      • New student entering 9th grade
      • New student entering 6th grade
      • Current CPS student in the Upper School
      • Current CPS student in the Middle School
  • If there are no eligible students from St. John’s, then the recipient should be an active member of one of the churches of the Baltimore Lutheran High School Association.
  • If there are no eligible students from the Baltimore Lutheran High School Association, then the scholarship will be awarded to a student with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Applications for the Betty L. Jasion Scholarship will be accepted annually from March 1 – March 31.  The scholarship recipient will be announced by April 30.  To apply for the Betty L. Jasion Scholarship, download an application here.

Congregational Support

Members of a Concordia Preparatory School Association Congregation may be eligible for a tuition discount. Some area churches may also provide assistance for families seeking to provide a Christian education for their children.
