Operation Christmas Child Project 2018
Oct. 1-5: is hygiene item week for Operation Christmas Child – For the past 25 years, Operation Christmas Child has been collecting shoeboxes filled with gifts and delivering them to children in need around the world. Each box is an opportunity for a child to experience the love of God in a real way and hear the Gospel. This week please bring toothbrushes, bar soap, combs, brushes, and washcloths (no liquids or aerosols) to the art room -105.
Oct. 8-12: is school supply week for Operation Christmas Child – In Malawi 12- year old Angella was delighted with her shoebox gift. Her parents couldn’t afford to buy school supplies but in her box, she found everything she needed. Reading the Gospel booklet proved to her that God is real. Now all 10 members of her family follow Jesus too. Please bring pens, pencils & sharpeners, crayons, markers, writing pads paper & coloring books (no used items) to the art room -105.
Oct. 16 – 19: is “toys for girls and boys” week – From Belize to Botswana, Chad & Cambodia, God is using Operation Christmas Child to help expand his church to the ends of the earth. A simple gift can bring joy & comfort to hurting people & open the doors for the message of love & forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ. Please bring small toys that will fit in a shoebox such as cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, jump ropes & slinkys (no used or war-related items) to the art room – 105.
Oct. 22-26: is nonperishable candy week for Operation Christmas Child – With the help of Operation Christmas Child, 29 new churches are thriving in West Africa. These churches shine like lights in the darkest part of the country reaching populations that don’t know Jesus or anyone who could tell them about him. Please bring candy (no chocolate or types that could melt while shipping) to the art room- 105.
Oct. 29-Nov. 2: From traumatized Syrian refugees living in camps in Southern Europe to earthquake survivors in Nepal’s Himalayan Mountains, Operation Christmas Child is able to share the Gospel of Jesus thanks to your simple shoebox gifts filled with toys & love. Thank you for your donations. It costs $9 to ship each box so monetary donations are still needed. Please make checks payable to Samaritan’s Purse.
