Blessings to the Eighth-Grade Class by Middle School Principal Mr. Curtis Miller
C. S. Lewis was quoted saying “Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different.” The same classes each day can feel like we are doing the same thing repeatedly, but that is why the end of the school year is such an impactful time for teachers and especially students. Yes, summer is coming and we all get time to breath, relax, refresh, revitalize classes and curriculum, but we also get to look back at the previous school year and see the fruits of our labor. The eighth graders on Friday at 7 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church will get to do just that. Affirmation is a time set aside to affirm the eighth graders and their accomplishment of finishing middle school, but more importantly, it’s a time to look back on middle school and be amazed at all the progress, growth, and improvements God has provided for these students.
I pray as the eighth-grade class looks back on their time in middle school they will understand that the tough times led to their growing, the challenges made them better, the good times left lasting memories, and God will always be with them. I pray the eighth-grade class continues to tap into the potential they have begun to discover, and they challenge each other daily to grow and develop into the servant leaders our world needs. On behalf of the middle school teachers we wish you all good luck, and remember Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” I will encourage us all, but especially the eighth graders with one more quote, “Take pride in how far you have come and had faith in how far God can take you.” God’s Blessings to the eighth-grade class on your Affirmation and your transition to high school.
