From Upper School Principal Mrs. Ruth Heilman
“For to us a child is born, to us, a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
What brings you peace? A day at the beach, a quiet walk in the woods on a snowy day? For me, it’s singing certain music. While all of these things can definitely produce a feeling of peace, there is only one way to find true peace – through Jesus, our Savior. You have probably seen the church signs which say, “No Jesus, no peace. Know Jesus, know peace.” When we know God as our loving and forgiving Father, and Jesus as our friend who made the ultimate sacrifice on the cross for us, we don’t just have a feeling of peace, we have true peace.
The CPS Community collected non-perishable food, baby items, and almost $600 in the past month for the Lutheran Mission Society’s Compassion Centers. In addition to helping meet people’s material needs, the LMS brings the message of God’s peace, found in the Gospel, to those in need. Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27
Thank you for your generosity in helping so many others this Thanksgiving and Christmas season. Enjoy God’s gift of Perfect Peace, this Christmas and throughout the New Year!
And He shall be their peace. Micah 5:5
